Henrique Dias Carneiro

Henrique Dias Carneiro is the managing partner of the Brazilian law firm Dias Carneiro Advogados.

Henrique is a senior lawyer with vast commercial experience. Between 1974 and 1977, Henrique was an assistant to the Finance Minister. He subsequently joined the Comissão de Valores Mobiliários (the Securities and Exchange Commission of Brazil) as in-house counsel. In the 1980s, Henrique practised at the Latin American and Caribbean Division of the World Bank in Washington, D.C.. He returned to Brazil towards the end of the 1980s to head up the legal department of Construtora Norberto Odebrecht. A few years later, he became head of the legal department of the Brazilian subsidiary of Alcatel. In 1995, Henrique decided to go into private practice and was managing partner of Escritório de Advocacia Gouvea Vieira’s São Paulo branch for several years. All these credentials have enabled Henrique to advise on a substantial number of major transactions involving some of the most important companies in Brazil and abroad.
