Henrique Dias Carneiro

Dr. Henrique Dias Carneiro is the managing partner of the Brazilian law firm, Dias Carneiro Advogados. This firm is associated with Uría Menéndez in Brazil.

Henrique is a senior Brazilian lawyer who has gained broad commercial experience. Between 1974 and 1977, Henrique worked closely with Brazil’s Finance Minister. He subsequently acted as Legal Counsel at the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission. In the 1980s Henrique acted as Legal Counsel in the Latin America Division of the legal department of the World Bank in Washington, D.C. In the late 1980s Henrique returned to Brazil to head the legal department of the leading Brazilian construction company Construtora Norberto Odebrecht. A few years later he headed the legal department of the Brazilian subsidiary of Alcatel. In 1995, Henrique decided to go into private practice and was for several years the partner in charge of the Sao Paulo office of the Brazilian law firm, Gouvea Vieira. These credentials have enabled Henrique to advise on a substantial number of significant transactions on behalf of key corporate players both at home and abroad.
